This position is will carry out the Department of Natural Resource's regional Facility Management Program. The incumbent is expected to work toward safe, functional and well-maintained facilities that promote cost-effective management of the State of Minnesota's natural resources.
Primary responsibilities include:
Maintain a comprehensive assessment of the Regional facilities, including structures, wells, fuel tanks, waste water systems, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, electrical and plumbing systems, and any other components for which the Facilities Management Program is responsible.
Evaluate and prioritize proposed maintenance, repair, and retrofit projects for consistency with the Facility Management Policy and discipline needs.
Prepare plans and specifications for maintenance, repairs and retrofit of facilities and appurtenances according to established priorities and budgetary constraints.
Administer contracts to insure compliance with State and Department procedures and policies.
Serve as advisor to assigned site supervisors of the Regional and area offices so that facilities are functional, safe, clean and presentable.
Oversee the maintenance of the Regional Complex buildings and grounds so that facilities are functional, safe, clean and presentable.
Coordinate the Southern Region DNR leased property program and insure compliance with state regulations and established agency procedures.
