Education: Combination of education and experience – such as a BA/BS or some college course work with 2-4 years of supply chain, construction management, project management, or engineering work.
Top 3 qualifications:
1) Previous Supply Chain / Material / Logistics Coordination experience
2) Construction Mgmt / Project Mgmt experience
3) General Supply Chain / Customer service experience – utility experience preferred
Planning & Scheduling
Intermediate knowledge of project planning and scheduling concepts as well as industry scheduling tools. Represents Supply Chain at site work management meetings. Tracks material needs in support of work management schedule. Ability to manage materials of large projects. Percent of Time = 10%
Reporting, Analysis, & Forecasting Analyze and prepare reports monitoring material activities related to ongoing construction projects. Utilize reporting tools and analysis to support material delivery, material disposition, and material returns activities. Utilize reporting to provide work direction to specialists and associates in support of business unit material requirements.
Percent of Time = 10%
Supply Chain Processes Provides effective business policies, procedures and standards to ensure the accuracy and integrity of information for use in analysis and decision support. Interface with construction supervisors and foreman on shipment
discrepancies and resolve with appropriate suppliers. Act as business unit advocate by consulting with inventory planners to ensure correct inventory settings in materials catalog. Percent of Time = 15%
Communication Creates and maintains open communication and partnerships with internal customers to understand material needs while providing an exceptional level of service throughout the material fulfillment and disposition processes. Communication is largely small group or one-on-one settings. May contribute to team presentations on projects, processes, and initiatives. Percent of Time = 10%
Material and Production Planning Working knowledge of concepts of lead times, manufacturing processes for commodities and highly engineering equipment, and fulfillment channels. Ability to work with suppliers to mitigate risk to construction crews for late materials. Coordinates and manages the logistics of job site deliveries and lay down yards. Coordinates
deliveries, crews and off-loading activities as required. Basic understanding of use, form, fit, and function of materials used by assigned business unit. Percent of Time = 20%
Relationship Management Builds and manages relationships with vendors, stores, buyers, accounts payable, project managers, construction, engineering, and standards on the successful execution of material fulfillment activities. Works in field to
create complex material fulfillment solutions based on job site and crew conditions. Percent of Time = 20%
Process & Project Management Participate on cross-functional teams or projects for business area or supply chain initiatives.
Support initiatives through data analysis, process flow mapping, leading pilot programs, and acting as a subject matter expect on behalf of business unit customers. Percent of Time = 15%
