Below are current opportunities to engage with students in our community around architecture. 

Minneapolis Public Schools 2020 STEM Expo

Wednesday, February 5, 2020 from 8:00 am – 3:30 pm
Minneapolis Convention Center, Hall A
Throughout this event nearly 2,200 8th grade students from Minneapolis Public Schools will visit the Expo to learn more about careers in STEM fields. AIA Minnesota hosts a booth that offers students a hands-on activity related to architecture, takeaway information about architecture careers and the opportunity to ask questions of booth staff.

Volunteers are needed to staff AIA Minnesota’s booth, engage with students who visit and answer questions about being an architect. Shifts are 2.5 hours in length; all volunteers receive a t-shirt to wear during your shift. Sign up for a shift »

Mill City Museum STEM Day

Saturday, February 22, 2020 from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm
Mill City Museum, Minneapolis
Mill City Museum hosts hands-on activities and programming for youth and families during this daytime event that highlights the role of STEM in the past and present of Minneapolis riverfront.
 
Volunteers are needed to staff a table and assist visitors in constructing cardboard models of local iconic buildings. Shifts are two hours in length. Sign up for a shift »
