New Member Receptions

Twice a year this committee throws a welcome party for the new AIA Minnesota members.  New Members are invited to join AIA Minnesota Board members, Committee Chairs and Staff at the AIA Minnesota office to learn about what AIA Minnesota, it’s members, committees and organization are all about. Board members educate new members on the numerous events throughout the year, highlight the accomplishments of the committees and encourage new members to get involved.  New Members walk away with the gained knowledge on how to get involved and get the most of their membership.  Committee members depart with contacts for new recruits and Board members have a better understanding of who our incoming members are and what they want out of AIA Minnesota. This event is a valuable occasion for all involved.

College of Design Career Fair

Each spring the Membership Committee has a booth at the College of Design Architecture, Interior Design & Landscape Architecture Career Fair.  This is an opportunity for members of the committee to connect with the students.  The students gain knowledge of the many benefits of AIA membership upon graduation, as they prepare a step into the professional world.

College of Design Graduate Student/Professional Reception

The University of Minnesota College of Design hosts a reception for architecture and landscape architecture graduate students.  This is a chance to get in touch with the architects of the future and make a connection with the College of Design architecture and landscape architecture students.  The event is co-sponsored by AIA Minnesota and Minnesota Chapter of the American Society of Landscape Architects (MASLA).
