Reports To: Manufacturing and Distribution Market Sector Leader Position Overview: This position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing all activities and personnel of assigned projects within the Manufacturing and Distribution Market Sector. This position will serve as a resource for technical and professional personnel assigned to Manufacturing and Distribution projects. This position will manage several projects concurrently and will administer the Project Team through the entire phase of project development to complete documents on schedule and within budget. Duties and Responsibilities: • Determine personnel needs for assigned projects based upon current and projected workload convey personnel needs to Manufacturing and Distribution Market Sector Leader. • Establish and discuss project goals, objectives, design standards and procedures with project personnel and Manufacturing and Distribution Market Sector Leader • Provide and collect information for various pre-design services such as: feasibility and environmental impact studies, site selection, and cost analysis • Participate in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance in relation to zoning laws, fire regulations, building codes and other ordinances; convey applicable changes of local, state, and federal regulations and ordinances to project personnel • Schedule internal meetings with project personnel to ensure design specifications and construction schedules are in conjunction with plans; ensure understanding of short and long-term facility and planning needs • Prepare and deliver oral and written presentations on the design and production of projects; present and explain proposals, reports and findings to clientele • Maintain frequent contact with clientele to ensure any questions, concerns, or comments regarding the project are addressed in a prompt and professional manner • Supervise and direct a multi-disciplined team of professionals, pre-professionals, technicians, and college interns throughout the development and contract document phases of a project; serve as a mentor for less experienced Project Managers and developing Project Architects • Review the performance and work quality of project personnel on project related work. Provide feedback to the Discipline Directors, Director of Operations, and Market Sector Leader; recognize outstanding contributions and provide constructive criticism for areas of improvement • Coordinate and participate in activities involving marketing and contract development of projects • Confer with and report to officials and the public to provide information and solicit support for project development • Conduct job-site inspections to monitor compliance with design specifications and layout Qualifications: • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with project personnel, internal office staff, and clientele • Ability to lead others and bring about solidarity within a diverse group to meet a determined goal • Ability to bring energy to a task and inspire others to reach a common goal while performing to the best of their ability • Proficient computer skills with use of Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD software; Revit experience is a plus • Effective time management and organizational skills; ability to become involved in a number of projects and remain up-to-date on the various development stages • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated ability to grasp and understand business concepts and issues • Demonstrated skills for efficient and timely project planning, scheduling and budgeting • Working knowledge of fee proposals, negotiations, and contract/subcontract administration • Detailed understanding of various regulatory building codes • Thorough working knowledge of current construction materials and methods Education and License Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree from accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering or related field; Master’s Degree or other advanced educations is a plus • Professional expertise demonstrated through 10-20 years of experience with a high degree of technical complexity • Professional license required • 5+ years of progressive Project Management experience • Current affiliation and/or membership with local, state, or national organization(s) is a plus We offer competitive salaries and a comprehensive Benefit package.
