Description: The University of Minnesota’s School of Architecture invites applications for a tenure-track position in the history of architecture at the level of assistant professor. We seek applicants who specialize in the history of architecture after World War II, but other areas of expertise will also be considered. Preference will be given to those whose work complements the current faculty’s research and teaching in one or more of the following areas: heritage preservation, urban/metropolitan design, sustainable design, digital design, global perspectives, and architectural, cultural or social theory. Requirements include a Ph.D. in architectural history or a related field, teaching experience and a record of scholarship. Responsibilities include teaching core and elective courses in architectural history and theory at the undergraduate and graduate levels advising students and serving on honors and graduate students’ committees; developing a strong record of research and publication and service at the School, College and University levels and public engagement. This is a 100%-time, nine-month, tenure-track appointment at the level of Assistant Professor. Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications.
