||As Business Development Representative, reporting to the Managing Principal you are responsible for business development relationship building efforts and target client networking for the Leo A Daly office located in Minneapolis, MN. Collaborating with the various Market Sector Leaders within the office, the Business Development Representative will engage in focused networking and a high volume ‘cold contact’ efforts to expand the organization’s effective network with prospective clientele and assist the MSL’s in prioritizing and implementing personal follow-up with each.
•Initiate and maintain extensive contacts with key potential clientele and industry representatives, organizations and companies in the market sectors serviced by the office including: Healthcare, Corporate/Commercial, Higher Education, Industrial (manufacturing and distribution), Federal, and Local Government
•Collaborate with Market Sector Leaders in Minneapolis office to understand their market sector focus, identify potential client targets, and prioritization of targets
•Carry out focused targeted end client outreach and associated contact networking. Outreach shall be of a high volume, with specific volumes established variably and collaboratively with Market Sector Leaders and Business Development Representative. Outreach shall include but may not be limited to:
3rd party networking for information gathering and to leverage existing relationships (personal and organizational) which may assist in positioning firm for end-client target contact
•Phone ‘cold calling’ direct to end-client target contacts.
•In-person meetings with end-client target contacts
•Business Development Representative shall be responsible to create end-client meeting ‘set ups’ for market sector leaders on a regular basis amounting to a minimum of (3) new end-client in-person meeting set ups per month per Market Sector Leader. End-client targets for set-ups shall be coordinated with Market Sector Leader’s prioritization of market goals and shall consist of specifically targeted end-client potentials.
•Assist in gathering related information on prospective projects and clientele.
•On-going collaboration with office Market Sector Leaders in the development, and execution of business development campaigns.
•On-going collaboration with office Market Sector Leaders in the evaluation of business development campaigns for effectiveness in the broadening our penetration of targeted market sectors
•Manage office Opportunities database using Deltek Vision CRM software and related reports within office and to Leo A Daly corporate.
•Other business development tasks as may be established in collaboration with Managing Principal and office Market Sector Leaders.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Marketing from an accredited college or university •Master’s Degree or a degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design will be considered a significant advantage
•10+ years of professional experience in business development within related industry. Experience in Architectural Design/Interior Design/Engineering firms and exposure to market segments listed above will be considered a significant advantage.
•Illustrated strong existing professional network within a minimum of 2 of the market sectors outlined above.
•Strong self-motivation combined with strong teaming skills.
•Strong task completion and goal achievement focus.
•An illustrated ability to maintain a disciplined focus on long-term business development outreach campaigns,
•Ability to multi-task and refocus after interruptions as necessary to balance and coordinate multiple campaigns on-going.
•Demonstrated ability to effectively and persuasively communicate and promote ideas and campaigns to clientele, combined with an interest and ability to collaborate with Leo A Daly team members on understanding and refining of market message.
•Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
•Strong with use of Microsoft Office applications; experience with Deltek Vision CRM will be considered an advantage.
•Excellent time management, organization skills and flexibility to change direction according to firm’s weekly needs.
