Description: Title: Architectural Principal Potential for Future Equity Position Description Overview Principals are both project and firm leader. They are responsible for marketing/business development, design and planning, project management, mentoring and developing staff. Principals are responsible for the performance of their projects as well as the overall performance of the firm. They are expected to be responsible for guiding and mentoring project teams, project budgets and working with others to monitor workload projections and staffing needs. They are responsible to develop and maintain strong client relations. As a principal they are expected to be an active member of client communities and represent the firm in professional associations. General Requirements • Registered architect (specifically eligible for registration in Minnesota) • 10 plus years in architectural practice with 3 to 5 years in demonstrated firm leadership including business development, operations and finance • Strong aptitude for leading clients and developing well-conceived design solutions • Demonstrated experience and active involvement in communities • Professional Membership and active involvement in AIA Skills • Strong skill in developing and integrating high performance building technologies • Experience in all phases of design with emphasis on leading teams to develop extraordinary client solutions • Demonstrated competency in use of Revit • Mature leader of clients and internal teams Essential Duties & Responsibilities Marketing/Business Development Works with the President and marketing team to continually expand personal network and acquire new clients. Develops personal relationships that lead to project opportunities. Initiates work winning strategy, leads development of proposals, presentations and contracts. 25% of time will be devoted to marketing and business development. Operations Works with president and other principals to insure the firm operations and infrastructure support the staff with facilities, technologies and development. Professional Services Works with other firm leaderships to continually provide, monitor and develop the highest quality of design and technical solutions to insure that the firm is chosen. Provides client, staff and project leadership that meets or exceeds expectations within the defined scope of the agreement. Financial Works with President to monitor firm’s financial health and project performance to meet established key indicators of success.
