Who Our Members Are
AIA Minnesota members really drive the values, goals and actions of the organization. While the majority of our members are registered architects, we also support Associate members who hold bachelor of architecture degrees and are either working on their internship and exam requirements to be come licensed architects or choosing alternate career paths related to architecture. Our Aliied members, professionals in related fields like engineering, construction or design, round out the membership and bring opportunities to share industry knowledge.
The American Institute of Architects Minnesota, founded in 1892, is dedicated to strengthening our communities, improving our built environment, and providing exceptional design. The 2,200 members of this professional organization at the state level are also members at a chapter level; either AIA Minneapolis (1600 members), AIA Northern (200 members) and AIA Saint Paul (400). AIA Minnesota has over 20 committees and the three chapters have their own committees and activities.
